not really cause we're far from ready to be a space faring race. Having technology is one thing, applying it in a childish and stupid manner with lack of foresight wisdom and responsibility is another.
anyways, bsg tells a great story about parts of our past, you'll see in season 4 when they reach earth.
look to egypt and beyond.
It appears we better catch up quick then as evidently there are already bases on the far side of the moon.

Because it would appear if the allegations in the Arthur C. Clarke thread are valid then BSG is part of a sophisticated Brainwash Psyop.

This quote from Dr. Steven Greer's book suggests that BSG is indeed part of a PSYOP.

Well it seems to me there are a great many very well educated as well as very level headed people who think otherwise and have not only put their reputations on the line for it, but potentially there lives as well.
This new dictatorship we live under in America with its draconian powers could at anytime swoop down and disappear these people and it is up to us to protect them by listening to them and looking into the subject they are trying desperately to make us aware of.

That only presumes that if your a human you are also an athiest. Then even if you are an athiest and believe it is the end of your existence you might be wrong anyway.
Then again if your a reincarnationist it works out pretty much the same whichever one you are.
